TYPES OF LACE WIGS

A lace wig is a special type of hairpiece or wig in which human hair or synthetic hair is tied by hand to a sheer lace base which is worn on the scalp. Some lace wigs also have what is referred to as "baby hair" around the edges of the lace which is used to cover up any visible signs of lace on the forehead, creating a realistic hairline. There are different types of lace wigs that vary by the amount of scalp coverage or the amount of lase base they possess. The various lace wigs include;

Lace closure, Lace front wigs, 360 lace wigs, fake scalp wigs and full lace wigs all in order of increasing scalp coverage.

• Lace closure wigs

Lace closure have small hairpiece tied by hand to a relatively small lace base. Lace closure is typically a 4x4-inch patch placed on the middle, front portion of the hairpiece but also comes in other sizes like 5x5, 2x6, 4x6 and 6x6. Closures are u-shaped and are installed in the “horseshoe” area of the head  to close off the style, hence the name closure. Closures also come in different length and styles like body wave lace part, straight lace part and curly lace part. Depending on your human hair style you are trying to closeup, you will definitely have the right closure for it.

• Lace front wigs or Lace frontals.

 Lace front wigs are the wigs with a piece of lace placed at the hairline position of the head I.e. from ear to ear. The size of the lace is 13x4 inch(13 inch across the head and 4 inch to the back) or 13x6 inch(13 inch across the head and 6 inch to the back)or other smaller size. The virgin human hair at this piece is sewn into the hole of the lace by hand. The frontal can be held in different styles and you can hold the hair back whereas the closure cannot be held back. Since the  lace is only in the front half of the wig, it allows the wearer to part the hair any way they want. Some Lace frontals have a T-part which is a middle part line that extends towards the centre part of the wig. This allows for long clean middle part and a nicer look.

• 360 Lace wigs

360 lace frontal wig, also known as 360 lace wig, 360 frontal wigs, and 360 wigs, is a circle lace around the head with  human hair knotted into the lace hole by hand. The 360 wigs is made of the high stretch machine-made wig cap, bonding with the lace edge. The human hair weave is sewn into the machine-made wig cap. 360 closure can be worn in a ponytale by installing with glue

• Full Lace wigs

Full lace wigs have a base that is made fully of lace, unlike the lace front wig. The entire human hair is hand-knotted strand by strand onto the lace cap. Because full lace wigs have lace all over your whole head, the wig will give an illusion that all of the hair is growing directly from your head. Full lace wigs are all hand-tied lace so they are more on the expensive side. Full lace wigs allow for the most versatility when it comes to styling for all lace wig types. They allow for a natural hairline and natural looking parting areas throughout the wig.
